Description

In December 2020, E Quinn Civils completed construction of a new public space at Springfield Dam. The £1.2 million redevelopment forms part of the larger PEACE IV Shared Spaces project which aims to develop connected spaces in North and West Belfast which are Welcoming, Safe, Good Quality and Connected. This Contract was the first Phase of the PEACE IV Shared Spaces project. The project has created an attractive, safe and accessible cycle and walkway near an urban area of West Belfast, connecting all members of the wider community.
The project has created an attractive, safe and accessible cycle and walkway near an urban area of West Belfast, connecting all members of the wider community with:
• construction of two new pedestrian / cycle entrances,
• a car park with vehicle entrance of the Springfield Road
• a new Modular classroom for schools and community groups
• a new causeway and footbridge across Springfield Dam,
• new fencing and boundary treatments,
• cycle/pathways,
• lighting and street furniture,
• a floating island,
• fishing stands
