This design and build project was completed for Northern Ireland Water to provide sulphuric acid dosing for periods of raw water intake extraction from the River Strule. The completion of this project provides the facility for dosing to facilitate pH correction of the raw water intake to achieve a coagulation pH of 6.0.
As principal contractor E Quinn Civils Ltd were responsible for the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the complete chemical dosing system for use with sulphuirc acid, at 96% concentration. Key elements of the contract included:
• Chemical Delivery Area
• Building to include emergency storage bund
• Storage Tank with 21m3 capacity
• Dosing Rig & dosing delivery line
• Control Panel
• PLC/SCADA Controls
This project was delivered within Derg WTW and the existing processes were maintained during project delivery.
