E Quinn Civils Ltd were awarded the Antrim WwTW upgrade works, under the NI Water ‘’Lot 2’’ Base Maintenance Contract, involving significant repairs and upgrades to existing MEICA assets. Antrim WwTW is designed to serve a combined residential and industrial population of 35,330 with a capacity to treat 28,250 m3 of sewage daily. During the delivery of this project existing process and treatment streams were maintained.
Some key elements of work that were completed included;
• Design and Replacement of 2 nr Inlet Screens
• Design and Installation of Grit Removal System
• Refurbishment of Coarse Screen Conveyors
• Design and Installation of 3 nr Half-Bridge Scrapers on PST Tanks
• Replacement of Sludge Thickeners
• All associated Mechanical and Electrical Installation
• PLC / SCADA robustness
