This project was completed by E Quinn Civils Ltd, and represents a strategic link in the overall Carlingford Lough Greenway. Constructed along the historic Middlebank (NIEA protected) between the Newry Ship Canal and the Newry River to Victoria Lough, this 3.5km long project was completed within an 8-week construction period.
The works included:
• New Path Construction
• Dry Stone Revetments
• Installation of Rip Rap for erosion protection
• Repairs to leaks through Middlebank
• Installation of new pedestrian footbridge
• Alterations to existing Canal Lock Gates and Ramps
