E Quinn Civils Ltd were appointed by the Central Procurement Directorate to build a new, state of the art sheep house and handling facility at the Hill Farm Centre, Glenwherry, Antrim on behalf of the College of Agriculture, Food and the Rural Environment.
The construction of the new facilities allows students and local sheep farmers access to innovative technologies and enable them to learn about the very latest sheep rearing and management techniques which will deliver tangible benefits to the Irish sheep industry.
Constructed from a portal steel frame structure, with reinforced concrete holding tanks this impressive facility covers over 22,000 ft2 and nestles within the Glenwherry mountainside.
Key Features include: modern flooring system, footbaths, identification and weighing system, curved races for animal handling all designed to ensure that large numbers of animals can be safely and efficiently handled.
