New single agricultural general purpose storage building at College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise, CAFRE, at their Greenmount Campus, Antrim.
The design of this single storey alarmed building, the building was done cladding with a standing-seam roof and its elevation done in Micro-rib Insulated Panels with clear sheeting to provide natural light. Its construction was erected as a steel portal framed building supported of traditional pad foundations and divided into two completely separate spaces as follows;
Included two mezzanine floor areas, accessed via precast concrete stairs. This internal space will be used to securely store general horticultural equipment and plant.
Staff accommodation area of the building, separated from Area 1 by cavity fire walls and closed to the Area 1’s mezzanine area at ceiling level by precast hollowcore slabs. This was constructed as an insulated heated space to comply with the Building Control regulations. The area also included a kitchenette, toilets facilities and changing rooms with associated mechanical and electrical fittings.
